Niia Bertino (BANG BANG)

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Over the weekend I was chillin’ with a good friend that I have collaborated with on records from my first album as well as on “A Work In Progress,” writer/poet, Olu Burrell. I was played him records from my next solo release to gage if I was heading in the right direction and before I left he told me I he played me a rendition of Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang” and now I’m sharing it with you. We all remember that GREAT Quentin Tarantino film “Kill Bill” with “Bang Bang” in it. personally “Twisted Nerve” was my favorite record on the soundtrack but “Bang Bang” was my joint and now this rendition is my joint! ENJOY!

Music Monday - Black Milk feat. AB

Monday, December 28th, 2009

First and foremost Happy Holidays to everyone! I hope your Holiday was filled with joy and good food!

I’ve been ripping and running for the last week and didn’t get a chance to blog like I wanted to. Last Sunday I drove from DC to Detroit to hit the studio with Black Milk. I was greeted by this crazy record produced by Black and blessed by Daru Jones on the drums. This was the first of three records we worked on last week. Believe me when I say this album he is working on is gonna be amazing. On Christmas morning Black leaked that record I was greeted by, titled “Keep Going” featuring myself and Daru on the drums, off his new solo album “Album Of The Year” dropping sometime in 2010. Check it out.

P.S. I also traveled to San Francisco last week with Slum Village for a dope show at Yoshi’s. Special shout out to DJ D Sharp and Que on the drums. The set was dope!! Thank you Bay Area for showing us love!
